About Allan Rhodes
  • Born June 28, 1960, Las Cruces New Mexico
  • Moved to Huntsville in 1962
  • Attend part of First Grade at Lakewood Elementary
  • Moved to Owens Drive in 1967 and attended Blossomwood Elementary
  • Accepted Christ as Savior, 1968
  • Attended Huntsville Middle School
  • Member of Mt. View Baptist Church, sang in youth choir, went on music tours, played church level flag football and basketball
  • Active member of Young Life in Huntsville – played guitar in music group each club meeting.
  • Active member of Campaigners - a Thursday morning prayer group before school
  • Graduate from Huntsville High School in 1978
  • Worked for Grandfather in peach and apple business for the rest of the summer of 1978 learning all aspects of how to run the family farm and grow peaches, apples, and run a large packing facility selling produce to SAFEWAY stores throughout the mid west. Most of my summers when not in college were learning how to take over the family farm in Arkansas where I participated in all areas of the farming business. No job was too small or low to learn. Needless to say College became a desired next stop in life.
  • Attended Jacksonville State University from 1978 until the spring of 1985 receiving a B.A. in Communication and a Minor in Business. While working my way through JSU:
    1. Started Radio career WLJS FM, Campus Radio Station
    2. Play-by-Play announcer for JSU Sports, Football, Basketball and Baseball, and High School Game
    3. 2 time Station Manager of WLJS Radio the campus radio station
    4. Increased power from 10 watts to 3000 watts during this period of time
    5. Wrote paper to Dr. Theron Montgomery the VP of Academic Affairs at JSU that eventually became the Communication Program at JSU.
    6. Founding President of JSU Communication Club, which became JSU’s Sigma Delta Chi, Society of Professional Journalists in 1985.
    7. In first Graduating class of JSU’s Communication Program Spring of 1985
    8. Hired by JSU to run T.V. Studio as Video Production Coordinator, Teaching Adjunct classes in Radio and TV production and news writing fall of 1985.
    9. Began High School Football Game of the week produced by JSU interns and aired each Saturday on TV 40 in Anniston
    10. Produced for re-broadcast National Championship season on TV for JSU Basketball
    11. Started JSU’s involvement in Calhoun County Crimestoppers
    12. Served on State Board of Crimestoppers before becoming Calhoun County Chairman for 2 consecutive years. Produced Crimestoppers programs for Channel 40 a CBS affiliate.
  • Started business Jacksonville Technical Productions later to move facilities to Anniston and change the name to Skyline Productions producing area commercials and industrial programs for companies like FMC, Federal Mogul, Monte Sano Chemical, Sunny King Ford, Talladega Motor Speedway, etc.
  • Rotary Club Member – Anniston
  • Deacon First Baptist Church Jacksonville, Alabama, 1988
  • Returned to Huntsville in October of 1991 to become the Video Control Specialist for the U.S. Army MICOM Visual Information Branch
  • Transferred to the Missile Research Development and Engineering Center 1993
  • Began support for TINTO and MRDEC Front Office
  • Worked on 1995 BRAC for MRDEC
  • MRDEC changed name to AMRDEC - supported transfer of Aviation Research and Development Center to Huntsville
  • Continued support to AMRDEC Front office and Team Redstone
  • Started HDC in October 1999 business has now grown to 21 employees
  • Married to Lisa Keller Rhodes, and have three children Audrey, Adam, and Anniston
